I e-Filed my taxes a week ago and still haven’t got my refund.
Last year I did it on paper and mailed it. The wait time was about the same so why is efiling your taxes supposed to be so much better?

When you e-File, you generally can expect yoru refund in 8-15 days if you select direct deposit. This is assuming there are no errors or offsets on your return. Selecting to receive a paper check adds another week on to the timeline for receiving your refund.
When you send in a paper return, it can take weeks to process it before your refund is issued.
Also, if you opt to have your preparation fees taken out of your refund, it delays your receiving it because the IRS then sends the refund to the account of your tax preparer and the preparer then has to process it and get it to you.
It takes 8-14 days if u have it direct deposited.
If you e-filed your tax return, you should get your refund within 15 days (of the date efiling was accepted) if you opted for direct deposit and 21 days if IRS send you a paper check. If you have mailed you return to the IRS, then you should receive your refund check within 6 weeks.
IRS does direct deposit on Fridays and you should see the money in your bank on the following Tuesday.
To see status of your return on IRS website, you must wait for 15 days after your efiled return was accepted.
